Configure your cache

Optionally use your own Redis or Dragonfly cache.

Cache and storage serve different purposes

Object storage holds the durable Git objects and release artifacts. The cache holds disposable repository data to speed up reads. Setting up a cache does not replace the storage profile.

Your custom cache applies only to your account’s repositories. You can use the built-in cache without configuring a personal one.

Connect a Redis-compatible server

  1. Open Account → My cache.
  2. Enter the Redis or Dragonfly host, port, TLS setting, username/password if required, and database number.
  3. Choose an optional key prefix and TTL, then save. Use the TLS setting required by your provider.
  4. Browse a repository and check for connection errors. The server must be reachable from the OrbitGit deployment.

Change or remove a cache

Cache entries are disposable. You can replace or remove a cache while repositories exist; removing it returns the account to the built-in cache. This does not move or delete repository object storage.
